Dr Wonder Nunekpeku is a Plant Breeder working with the Biotechnology and Nuclear Agriculture Research Institute. He holds a PhD in Plant Breeding from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and an MPhil. in Mutation Breeding and Plant Biotechnology from the University of Ghana (School of Nuclear and Allied Sciences). His research interests include application of conventional breeding and plant mutation induction for development of climate-smart hybrids and mutant crop cultivars, tissue culture applications in plant breeding including embryo culture/rescue and shoot tip and meristem culture, haploid/doubled haploid research, ploidy level and genome size analyses and induction and screening for biotic and abiotic stress resistance.

Dr. Andrew Sarkodie Appiah is a Principal Research Scientist and Manager of the Plant Disease Research Centre (PDRC) at BNARI, Ghana Atomic Energy Commission. He holds advanced degrees in Agricultural Science, Mutation Breeding, and Molecular Plant Virology from KNUST, the University of Ghana, and the University of Tasmania, and is trained in CRISPR gene editing and recombinant DNA technology. With over a decade of experience, his research focuses on plant-virus interactions, disease diagnostics, viral diversity, and integrated disease management. He is actively advancing CRISPR-based rice improvement for virus resistance in Ghana. A prolific scientist with 30+ publications, he also serves on the IPPC Technical Panel and lectures at the University of Ghana.

Dr. Ing. Samuel Nii Akai Nettey is a Water Resources and Soil Water Engineer with over 20 years of experience in agricultural water resources management, soil water management and crop nutrition, Resource Recycling and Reuse (RRR), nutrient mining from agricultural and municipal solid waste for organic fertilizer and climate-smart agriculture. He serves as Centre Manager of the Soil and Environmental Sciences Research Centre (SESRC) at the Biotechnology and Nuclear Agriculture Research Institute (BNARI), under the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission. His research advances biocircular economy, water quality technologies, contaminant tracing, and sustainable crop production, including economic modelling of irrigated mango cultivation in Ghana. He also lectures at the Graduate School of Nuclear and Applied Sciences, University of Ghana, and leads collaborative projects with leading national and international partners.

Dr. Enoch Selorm Kofi Ofori is a Senior Research Scientist (Entomology) at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC) and Centre Manager of the Radiation Entomology and Pest Management Centre at the Biotechnology and Nuclear Agriculture Research Institute (BNARI). With over 15 years of experience, he specializes in integrated pest management, radiation entomology, biological control, insect ecology, and the application of nuclear technologies in agriculture. He has led and contributed to collaborative projects with the IAEA, CABI, SARI, and IITA on fruit flies, fall armyworm, mosquitoes, tsetse flies, and Black Soldier Fly technology, promoting sustainable agriculture, food security, circular bioeconomy, and climate-resilient pest management solutions

Dr. Nusrat Tsemah Afful is a senior research scientist and Centre manager of the Biotechnology Centre (BTC) at the Biotechnology and Nuclear Agriculture Research Institute (BNARI), Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC). She holds a BSc in Agricultural Science from the University of Cape Coast, an MPhil in Nuclear Agriculture from the University of Ghana, and a PhD in Plant Breeding from KNUST. Her research focuses on plant breeding, biotechnology, plant tissue culture, mutation breeding, and crop improvement. Dr. Afful has over ten years of research experience and has authored and co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed scientific publications.

Dr. Bernard Darfour is an expert in Industrial and Agricultural Technology, and Crop Production and Physiology. He has over fifteen years of experience as a research scientist in his area of expertise. His professional interests focus on radiation processing, and modern analytical techniques in food and agriculture for food decontamination, food preservation, and phytosanitary purposes; food quality and safety improvement; value addition and processing; post-harvest management and shelf-life extension; and food and nutrition security to improve human health and livelihood. He belongs to national and international scientific communities and committees, and has more than 30 scientific publications.

Dr. Isaac Baidoo is a Socio-Economist and Senior Research Scientist at the Biotechnology and Nuclear Agriculture Research Institute (BNARI) of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC). His research focuses on socio-economic analysis, agricultural development, and natural resource management. He is proficient in analytical tools, including STATA, SPSS, R, and KoboToolbox, which he uses for data analysis, rapid field surveys, and data collection. His research interests include climate change adaptation, agricultural value chains, food innovation, and food processing. Dr. Baidoo has authored and co-authored 16 scientific publications, contributing significantly to socio-economic research and agricultural development in Ghana.

Mrs. Doris Esi Bigombi is a Senior Accountant at the Accounts Department of the Biotechnology and Nuclear Agriculture Research Institute (BNARI) under the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission. With 14 years of experience in accounting, she ensures compliance with financial rules and regulations through effective collection, tracking, and management of institutional finances. She plays a key role in financial decision-making that improves efficiency and strengthens public financial management in line with the Institute’s vision and objectives. Known for her strong expertise in accounting and financial management, she supports research and development activities by enhancing expenditure control, improving income generation, and ensuring value for money.

Mr. Theophilus Odame Saforo is the Administrator of the Biotechnology and Nuclear Agriculture Research Institute (BNARI) under the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission. He holds an MBA in Human Resource Management and a BA in Psychology with Philosophy, bringing extensive experience in human resource management, administration, and stakeholder engagement. Throughout his career at GAEC, he has served in key administrative roles, including Head of General Services, Human Resource Administrator, and Administrator at the Radiological and Medical Sciences Research Institute. At BNARI, he oversees administrative operations, human resource management, and budget coordination while supporting institutional governance. Renowned for his approachable leadership, he fosters a collaborative and productive work environment.
Mr. Theophilus Odame Saforo

Bright Courage Agbodza is the Acting Head of Internal Audit at GAEC-BNARI, with over 19 years of professional experience in accounting and auditing. He holds a Diploma in Accounting, a BSc in Accounting, and an MBA in Accounting and Taxation. Since joining the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission in 2007, he has served in several auditing roles across GAEC institutions, including GAEC Guest House, Basic School, Block Factory, GSNAS, Hospital, and RAMSRI providing solutions to control weakness and high risk activities and procedural breaches. He is highly skilled in internal controls, risk management, taxation, procurement, and financial compliance. He provides independent assurance and advisory services, ensuring strict adherence to policies and promoting transparency, accountability, and effective institutional governance.
